breathe...

Whether it is your first time to the mat or you are returning after a time away, we are happy to welcome you to Yogapod.  Click here to view class styles. Please consider the following information to make the first steps on your journey flow with ease.

For those new to the studio we are pleased to offer reduced rates.  You can choose to do one class for $10 or your first week of unlimited yoga for $20.  We like to recommend the first week so that you can sample different styles of practice, teaching and various times of day, finding a flavour that suits your needs.  Available to all students is our yoga consultant who is on hand to address any of your concerns.  Whether a question or comment the yoga guide can be reached at one@yogapod.com.

what to expect your first class

You’ve gotten through the door... great! Now what? For your first visit we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early so we can have you fill out our registration form and become acquainted with the space.

what to wear

Wear light, non-constrictive clothing that can breathe.  We like to recommend that you also bring a change of clothes for your own comfort after class.

mats & towels

A mat is mandatory for class.  Your first mat rental is free.  For your following classes mats are available for rent at $1.50.  We encourage you to own your own mat if you decide yoga is for you.  We have a variety of mats available to purchase, please feel free to ask your teacher about what may best suit your needs.  For the hot practice you will need a large bath towel.  Bring one from home or rent one from us.

water & food

It is better for your body to not be processing food or water while you are practicing.  It is critical however to be hydrated and well fed before you arrive.  If you are undernourished you may find yourself feeling dizzy and/or nauseous.    Please drink at least a litre of water throughout your day.  We have filtered water on tap or bottles of spring water available for purchase. We suggest that you don’t eat 2-3 hours before practicing.  If you are coming to a morning class or if you are coming in the evening and have not eaten since lunch, you may find that need a little food.  Eat something easily digested (i.e.: fruit, soup or yogurt) in a small amount so that your body has the energy to sustain practice.

promptness

The studio doors are locked when class is in session.  For the respect of all students we do not allow students in once class has started.  Coming 15 minutes early will ensure that you have enough time to sign in, change and settle into the space.  Congratulations!  You are making a wonderful choice for yourself and we feel blessed to be a part of it.
