If you’ve just signed up for your first Yoga Pod class, you may be wondering what you need to bring with you to the studio. If so, you’re going to want to keep reading this post to learn how you can be prepared for your first class. The more prepared you are, the more confident you will feel. Let’s get into it!
Come To Your Yoga Class Prepared
Comfortable Attire
No matter the Yoga Pod class you sign up for, you will be moving around a lot. The different poses, exercises, and set sequences require ample movement, thus requiring comfortable clothing. You’re going to want to show up to class in whatever feels most comfortable to you. That said, steer clear of super loose clothing as you may run the risk of it getting in the way of properly doing different yoga positions. Standard yoga attire items are comfortable and stretchy yoga pants and a comfortably fitting top. If you feel more comfortable in a pair of shorts, then by all means, wear that. Whatever you feel is conducive to movement, and possibly sweating if you sign up for our podHOT class, is your best bet.
Water Bottle
Just like any other fitness class, you’re not going to want to show up to any yoga classes without a water bottle. Even though you may not have signed up for a class that is high intensity, you will still benefit from drinking plenty of water before, after, and during the session. If you’ve signed up for a podHOT or podFIT class, bring a large water bottle as you will be producing a detoxifying sweat and will be moving a lot. You can take your yoga hydration to the next level by packing a bottle of coconut water for after. No matter how intense the class was, it’s essential that you hydrate so that your body receives the all of the benefits from the experience.
A Light Snack
There is no worse feeling than leaving a fitness or yoga class starving and not having anything to snack on. You can avoid this catastrophe by packing a snack. The best snacks to munch on post-yoga is a piece of fruit with almond or peanut butter. This is especially ideal if you sign up for a class midday and have to head back to work afterwards. Whatever the rest of the day has in store for you, you will be thankful that you brought a snack along.
Yoga Mat
While we have yoga mats available to rent at our studio, we recommend you bring your own. Our mats are cleaned after every use, so if you do need a mat or forgot to grabs yours on the way out the door, you won’t be left stranded. That said, you may feel more comfortable using a mat of your own. A good tip is to leave it in the back of your car so that you can have it when you head to the studio before or after work.
Positive Attitude
When heading in for your first class, you may feel intimidated or even a little worried. While that’s understandable, it’s best to maintain as positive of an attitude as possible You will get the most out of your first Yoga Pod experience when you come feeling receptive and willing to learn. Know that you are in company of friends who want to help you succeed and get the most out of your experience. At the end of the day, you will grateful for the experience to challenge yourself in a new way, whether you enjoyed the yoga class or not.
