5 Yoga Poses to Try This Christmas
Have you thought about bringing the holiday season into your yoga practice? Here at Yoga Pod Tucson, we certainly have! Of course, you could use yoga to help you deal with the stress of the holidays. In today’s blog however, since it’s Christmas Day, we decided to present you with a few options for festive yoga poses that you can work into your own vinyasa flow or yoga meditation.

Candy Cane Pose
Come into standing side bend and voila! You’re officially in Candy Cane Pose. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and extend both arms overhead with palms facing each other. Clasp your right wrist with your left hand and bend toward the left and open up. Repeat on the opposite side.
Christmas Tree Pose
This balancing pose is just right for Christmas Day! Come into tree pose (being careful to not place your foot on the opposite knee joint) and imagine you’re a tall Christmas tree standing strong and balanced. Repeat on the opposite side.
Nativity Camel Pose
What nativity scene is complete without a camel? We of course thought of camel pose when coming up with holiday-inspired yoga poses. While kneeling down, slowly lean back and reach your hands to your heels in this intense chest opener.
Nine Ladies Dancing Pose
“On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: nine yogini ladies dancing!” Be sure to square your hips, protect the standing knee, and find your drishti during dancer pose, or Nine Ladies Dancing Pose. Repeat on the opposite side.
Come into five-pointed star pose and emanate the energy of a unique, one-of-a-kind snowflake from all five points! This yoga pose is sure to make you smile and share your energy on Christmas Day.
